Gregg Tobin

President

An entrepreneur for nearly 45 years, Gregg has sold seven of the companies he started or purchased and thus is a veteran of both sides of the negotiating table. That makes him uniquely well-qualified to address and understand the needs of both sellers and buyers. As an industry leader in brokerage services for mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, Gregg, since 2003, has brokered the sale of more than 225 small, closely held companies spanning a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, logistics, professional service, technology, construction, and food service companies. Throughout this period, 75% of Gregg’s engagements have come through referrals, a sure sign of client satisfaction.

Gregg grew up in Pittsburgh in an entrepreneurial family where his late father founded and developed the largest junior panel billboard business in the country. Gregg currently splits his time between Orange County California and Pittsburgh.


David Tobin

M&A Advisor

David works with GBS clients to help build and monetize business value. In addition to helping clients buy and sell businesses with mergers and acquisitions advisory services, David crafts exit plans, designs management buy-out plans, and provides consulting services to enhance enterprise value and prepare companies for profitable transitions. David has worked with more than 100 companies to help enhance enterprise value or convert business value into family wealth. David is an entrepreneur who has founded, grown, and crafted exit plans for three companies. He splits his time between Southern California and Pittsburgh, where he is the managing partner of TobinLeff, LLC.


Randy Krauthamer

M&A Advisor

Randy assists GBS in an advisory capacity with guidance in a variety of industries. He has over 20 years of experience advising clients in mergers, acquisitions, valuations, and raising debt and equity capital. Randy has completed more than 100 transactions and brings a wealth of transaction and complex negotiation experience to critical situations.


Joe Rutter

Advisor

Joe Rutter is a long time GBS advisor and has worked with our group on projects that require strategic real estate expertise involving commercial and property management. Joe is the owner of EHM Real Estate, a full-service real estate company located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Joe has been a strong referral source for GBS and provides a high level of service to his clients. His years of experience as a real estate broker have earned him respect and popularity in Orange County and beyond. Joe, a Pittsburgh native, lives with his wife Kourtney and three boys in Dove Canyon.


Jason Rhoda

Advisor

Jason has over 20 years of experience performing business valuations and providing mergers and acquisitions advisory services. He has held senior leadership positions at investment banks and in private industry. Throughout his career, he has led over 800 sell-side engagements across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, technology, distribution, medical, retail, and commercial services. Prior to joining Gateway Business Sales, Jason worked as a Vice President for RSM EquiCo, which was a financial services division of McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. During his tenure, Jason managed a group of ten individuals responsible for providing fair market opinions of value for private, middle-market businesses as well as market preparation materials. Jason's experience also includes a senior role for a subsidiary of Salomon Smith Barney, where he evaluated and marketed privately held, middle-market companies. Jason graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside, with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He has also received his master's degree in business administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.


Stephanie Olson

Business Development

Stephanie works closely with GBS clients in business development and marketing while managing the database and building targeted prospect lists. With over 15 years of background in business bulk escrow, Stephanie brings a wealth of experience in working with business owners and buyers. Stephanie also interacts with GBS clients throughout the sales process, is instrumental in lead generation for prospective buyers on the sell side, and also markets the GBS brand. Stephanie, a California native, lives with her family in Mission Viejo. 


Sean Edelstein

Managing Director

Sean has been an entrepreneur dating back to age 12 when he proudly sold fish to pet stores, and this entrepreneurial spirit continued through reselling floppy disks in bulk, selling NASCAR merchandise at a retail popup, and renovating motorhomes (which he expanded to three locations before the business was acquired). Sean has been selling companies for 27 years and previously founded BottomLine Business Brokers, which focused on main street businesses; the group collectively completed over 1,000 transactions while developing the most advanced technology in the business brokerage industry. Sean is a proud father of two adult children, and he and his wife live in Palm Desert.
